Meet the Team.

 

 

John Mark Ramsey - CEO & Founder

First and foremost, John Mark Ramsey is the proud father of four children and a long-time resident of Central Florida with his wife Jane.  Mr. Ramsey is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sentio Investments, LLC. Sentio Investments most recently served as the sole advisor to Sentio Healthcare Properties, Inc.  Sentio Healthcare Properties was a real estate investment trust, which invested exclusively in healthcare related real estate. Mr. Ramsey served as a Board member, President and Chief Executive Officer of the REIT.  Since becoming the lead executive in January of 2012, the Company successfully attracted institutional capital and more than doubled the size of the platform.  Mr. Ramsey led the successful sale of the REIT which closed in August of 2017 at $14.65 per share in cash plus a contingent value right interest.  The sale represents the highest per share cash liquidity event for a public non-traded REIT on record.

From May 2007 to December 2011, Mr. Ramsey was the Chief Executive Officer of Servant Healthcare Investments, LLC, a private real estate advisory company, which previously served as sub-advisor to Sentio Healthcare Properties, Inc. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Ramsey was the Senior Vice President of Investments at CNL Retirement Corp.  In this capacity, he managed the investment group and was responsible for implementing and executing the investment strategy in the senior housing and medical facilities’ sectors. CNL successfully sold its healthcare real estate business to Health Care Property Investors, Inc., (NYSE: HCP) in 2006 for total consideration of $5.3 billion.  At the time, HCP was the nation’s largest real estate investment trust focusing exclusively on properties serving the healthcare industry. Mr. Ramsey began his career in healthcare real estate as Co-Founder of a regionally focused senior housing owner, operator and developer.  The company, which he helped launch, remains an active participant in senior housing throughout the southeast United States.  Mr. Ramsey’s combined real estate healthcare experience totals over $5.0 billion. 

Mr. Ramsey is part of a select group of industry leaders evaluating the need for more cost-effective housing and care solutions for seniors.  This initiative is organized by the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care (NIC).  Mr. Ramsey is also a board member at Westminster Communities of Florida, one of the country’s largest non-profit senior housing operators and developers.  Mr. Ramsey is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Florida State University, having earned dual degrees in finance and real estate.  

 

 

Spencer Smith - CFO

Spencer is a Senior Vice President and CFO of Sentio Investments. In this role he is responsible for corporate finance, capital markets initiatives, accounting and reporting oversight, and investment strategy and execution. Previously Spencer also served as the Chief Financial Officer of Sentio Healthcare Properties, Inc. Prior to joining the Company, Spencer was an Associate at Aisling Capital, a healthcare-dedicated private equity fund in New York City. His role at Aisling focused on investment sourcing, evaluation, and execution in the life sciences sector. Previously, Spencer was a Business Analyst in the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Products practice at McKinsey & Company.

Spencer received his M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Palmer Scholar. He received his A.B. from Princeton University, awarded magna cum laude in Economics.

 

 

Scott Larche - SVP & Co-founder

Scott Larche is co-founder and Senior Vice President of Sentio Investments. In his role, Scott is responsible for acquisitions and development, underwriting, and investment structuring.

Prior to joining the Company, Scott was the co-founder and Vice President of Investments for Servant Healthcare Investments, the Company which previously served as a sub-advisor to the REIT. Before founding Servant, he served as Senior Manager of Investment Analysis for CNL Retirement Corporation ("CNL") now Health Care Property Investors, Inc., (NYSE: HCP), the nation's largest real estate investment trust focusing exclusively on properties serving the healthcare industry. In this capacity, Scott managed the underwriting and investment structuring for over 30 transactions covering nearly 5,200,000 square feet of medical and related healthcare real estate valued at over $1,200,000,000. Scott had direct responsibility in the investment analysis and structuring of medical offices and healthcare acquisitions, developments and closings.

Prior to joining CNL/Health Care Properties, Inc., Scott was a Senior Consultant in Arthur Andersen's Risk Consulting Group performing consulting and audit engagements for clients in numerous industries. Scott received both his MBA and undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida.

Zack Graham - Chief accounting officer

Zack is the Chief Accounting Officer for  Sentio Investments. In this role, he is responsible for accounting, SEC financial reporting, and taxation. Zack previously served as Controller for the Company from March 2012 to April 2016. Prior to joining the Company, Zack was a Director of Financial Reporting at the The LGL Group, Inc. Zack is a certified public accountant and also previously worked in the audit practice of KPMG LLP from December 2004 to February 2011.

Zack received a degree in finance and economics from the University of Notre Dame and an M.S. in tax from the University of Central Florida.

 

 

Ann Bargeron - vice president, Asset management

Ann serves as Vice President for Sentio Investments. Her primary focus is asset management for the Company, working closely with the facilities as well as the Company's operator partners.

Prior to joining Sentio, Ann worked for nine years as a consultant for Arcapita, Inc. While there she developed the asset management function for the private equity firm's senior housing portfolio of 78 senior housing assets located in U.S. and the United Kingdom. The $1.5 billion portfolio included assisted living, independent living, and CCRC assets. Ann was also instrumental in the recapitalization and transition of a troubled CCRC portfolio as well as a number of redevelopment and repositioning projects while consulting for Arecapita. While primarily involved in asset management, she also advised Arcapita on acquisition of $498 million and disposition of over $500 million in senior housing assets.

Prior to her work with Arcapita, Ann was with Prudential Real Estate Investors and was a Director in their Senior Housing Group. In that role she managed financing activities for three, closed-end, commingled funds with $600 million in gross assets invested in senior housing properties. Ann also spent several years as a lender with Prudential Mortgage Capital Company originating general commercial and senior housing mortgages for the insurance company general account and CMBS platforms.

Ann is an honor graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Management.
